You may apply for reappointment if there is a continuing need for your appointment. Application for reappointment must be submitted 2 months prior to expiry of your term. Ensure that your JP log book reports for the period are submitted. Failure to submit will result in the non-renewal of your appointment.

There is no definite timeframe for processing of renewal of appointment applications as this depends on external factors.
A JP must formally notify the Ministry of Justice within 14 working days of:
- Change of name, residential address, contact details including phone numbers, postal address and email address;
- Being convicted of a criminal offence;
- Initiation of investigations by any authority against that particular JP;
- Initiation of any legal proceedings against that particular JP;
- Lost JP Log books
- Lost JP ID Card
Lost JP stamps
Logbook reports are to be submitted every six (6) months i.e. March and September. Ensure proper record of entries for future references. Download the Logbook Acknowledgement Form and attach with the report when submitting. This can be submitted to the address below or to any of our Divisional BDM Registries:
